So much energy in less than 500KB ^__^

Loops VERY nicely. The song could go like this for a good minute without being boring at all.

Congrats.

Sacrafan responds:

Lol yea I rendered it at maq quality too, i'm liking this. I'm going to make a full version without fl core XD =3

Very nice!

The lyrics are pretty good and well timed. It's not really my style, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate its creativity ^__^.

The guitar is played very well and the voice is awesome. I liked how you (slightly) changed the mood during the quoted part. Too bad the recordings SUCK. Seriously... it's a true shame.

Anyway, I'd be very stupid to vote anything lower than a 4 to this piece so...

Great job! Keep it up.

netty-swobb responds:

Thanks man. Can't take credit for the lyrics or the music. The lyrics are by 'TheBardOf Blasphemy' and the music is by 'PenguinBomb,' but the vox are mine.

Cheers for listening dude.

Very nice.

Your song has a celtic spirit in it which fascinates me. Very nice.

The mood it gives me is half way between awe and sadness (if it makes any sense ^__^). Perhaps it would be best described as sad beauty...

However, I don't get the low scores. 3.49 average is unfair. The thing that makes even less sense is that an amazing number of downloads (why didn't those people vote while they were downloading?!).

By mistake I voted when I wasn't logged in. Tomorrow I'll surely vote a big fat 5 to compensate (because you deserve it ^__^).

Excellent job.

P.S. I happened to stumble on this song simply because I just noticed that I gave my song the same exact title. Sorry for my lack of originality =__=.

theinfernumflame responds:

Thanks for the kind words (I know, I'm a little late on the reply). What amazes me is that this song probably took the least time to write out of all my songs. I basically just played the flute line in one take, then played the violin line in one take, then cleaned them up a little bit and added a bit of orchestration. I finished it in a few hours.

Nice!

The instruments are well chosen and the melody is fantastic!

Those drums... just perfect ^__^.

Only "flaw" is that it's rather short, but that means absolutely nothing. This sounds like the perfect music for an epic battle scene.

Great job!

Great job guys ^__^

Really touching. Both your guitar and Stalag's piano blended nicely. The reeverb you added to your guitar (as I already told you) was VERY welcomed.

For some strange reason, relistening to this song makes me want to like climb a mountain and drink the water dripping down it's glaciers (especially from <0:00-0:47>). I'd name this song "Purity".

Great job you two.

A tip...

DO NOT write in your comments "I didn't like this one from the very start"... if you do, the casual listener will either move elsewhere or just listen to the first 30 seconds and simply vote a low score.

However, I see what you mean with the "countless wasted hours" part. There are a few melodies that are tough to combine well. Perhaps it's the fact that the low pitch tones are a bit dull and that the melody varies too little, but I not sure.

However, the high pitched ones were good, imo ^__^ (best example: from 2:16-end). As a matter of fact <2:14-end> gets really interesting. It seemed like an awesome build-up... too bad it ends soon after =__=.

The start was actually interesting (with the foot-like-sound making the beat and all). I expected some hardrock guitaring after that point, tbh. It would've been an kickass start ^__^.

I'm just giving you my very honest opinions, so I hope you won't get offended. Hope it helps :P

OMG! TY! THIS IS, to date, my very favorite review!! Every thing you said is absolutely perfect! TY!
and ps.... thanks for the encouragement =D

Fantastic.

How out of the ordinary!! The strange "fragment-like" progression is awesome and makes for some original images in my head (like one of those artistic videos where something that makes no sense in the beginning slowly builds to a full, deep story).

I loved the that rain-stick-like sound giving the rythm and those shy piano notes that would appear. The strings give the song the depth it deserves. Bravo.

I knew that by adding more layers your stuff would become even more amazing. Keep going towards this direction Sam. One of the best songs I've heard from you so far.

Wow.

Boux responds:

trying some new sounds, new guitar tuning, thanks alot buddy, i know a 10 from you is very meaningful

here's the tuning if you want to play around with it Eb Ab C# F Bb C# with capo on 4th fret

Impressive!

Forgive me robomaus but I can't review your work because I have the technical knowledge that Sentinel94 has so I'll just limit my review by saying that this was a fantastic composition that gave the impression of there being more instrumentalists.

The composition felt very dramatic and I could picture it in a movie (perfect starter music with the credits and a fly-by scene through some snowy mountains and forests with a scene where someone is being chased)

This is what I pictured:
<0:00-0:22> Title screen (black screne turns white with snow)
<0:22-0:44> A 1940's car is being chased in a road in the middle of a snowy forest by some soldiers wielding rifles. (maybe some camera shots from the forest with some deer staring at the cars)
<0:44-0:57> Dramatic moment where a rifle shot manages to hit the car's tire and make it lose control.
<0:58-1:02> The people in the car decide to run in the woods (mother, father and child).
<1:03-2:02> The chase continues by foot with the soldiers shooting at them
<2:03-2:07> The mother trips and falls on the floor and the father tries to help her get up
<2:08-2:22>... the child doesn't notice and keeps on running, but when he sees that his parents aren't behind him he runs back only to see the soldiers got them... he hides in the bushes only to see...
<2:23-2:34> His parents are executed by the soldiers...
<2:35-2:56> Very dramatic moment where the child starts to cry hidden in the bush (in the meanwhile the soldiers are arguing about where the child might be)
<2:57-3:04> A shadow appears through the bush where the child is hiding and he stays silent fearing that the soldiers caught him.
<3:05-3:15> The child finds a way to sneak past the soldiers but then they heared something and the chase continues...

etc.

Very, very nice job ^__^. Oh and the chorus in the end is very good as well (was that the surprise you were talking about?).

robomanus responds:

Yes. That was this surprise. The instrumentalists were singing :) There was no choir :D thank's for comment

This loop is pretty nice ^__^.

It gives that ghostly and supernatural kind of feel. I'd imagine it in a scene with ancient ruins in some Final-Fantasy-like RPG.

The harp, the chorus, the dark chorus, the storm sound effect, the distant bell and that awesome drum crescendo were all superb ^__^.

I personally would've added a low-pitched pad to enhance the darkness of this piece, but it's already pretty cool the way it is already.

Nice job! Keep 'em coming.

MainManLuke responds:

I totally agree, I would love to add pads and different synths, but I cannot for some reason learn how to use Fruity Loops or any of those. So the program i use only offers REAL, if you will, Instruments. Thanks for your great reviews!

Hey...

...that beat was pretty phat ^__^. The build-up until 0:50 was pretty nice!

Keep it up.
