What?!

No one voted this song and you got only 2 listens?! That's impossible.

This is a pretty nice composition... a bit quiet as you said, but very nice.

The only thing I don't like is that instrument that starts from 1:25. It's pretty fake sounding.

From 2:22- end was good.

4/5 and 9/10. You deserve some attention ^__^.

MainManLuke responds:

Yeah I'm Definitely thinking about redoing this song with a replacement for that instrument. Now that I'm aware of how to use Finale I know how to use the real instrument set. Thanks for the review! Ill have a few more songs up today/tomorrow if you want to hear them :D

Nice ^__^

The timing of the recordings are just perfect. Maybe some variation in the beat would've been appreciated, but it's excellent nonetheless.

Nice job! This will surely increase the casual-viewer's interest.

That wind in the background...

...it sounds like Gaia breathing. So beautiful... so peaceful... so ethereal. Both of the guitars are pretty harmonious and work well together. Surprisingly the soft sounds of your guitar don't clash with the metallic ones of your bro. *sigh*... how peaceful...

However, from 2:24-end sounded like a totally different song... it kind of abruptly shook away all the pictures I had in my mind. In this part, your little bro disappeared and so did that whole low-tone mood he was casting (say good job to your bro from my part, ok? ^__^). Yes yes... it sounds soothing and all, but... I don't know... it seemed to interrupt more than aid "the drifting".

Anyway, the overall (especially the first part) was superb. Your stuff was already beautiful without any special effects and I was already expecting that the day you would've added more to your compositions would've come with a bang. You didn't let me down. The scary part is... it's still very minimalistic in terms of effects and layers so who knows what awesome stuff is yet to come when you'll focus on that!

Anyway, call me crazy, but it's been a day and half or so that I've been thinking how both you and Stalagmite are really good at conveying an eternal tranquility in your songs... I wonder how it would sound combined... both the piano and the guitar are two very powerful instruments and under both of your hands, well... it's magic. Do you think that it'll ever happen?

Oh well, got to go now. Take care.

Boux responds:

yeah i know :P the transition wasnt very good, we should had let the same background ambiance throught the song to make sure it doesnt switch abruptly. And on the piano and the guitar together , sounds great!!! Id love to do a collab with Stalagmity, we'll see. Thanks again and keep uploading yourself.

Breath in... breath out...

Let me take a wild guess... you made more than two songs that day and managed to upload only two of them, am I right?

You're possessed with inspiration man! Dude, don't be so selfish... meditate a bit and send ME a tad of your inspirational wonder!

Jokes aside, good job once more. This song seems pretty different in terms of concept compaired to the others you've made... and me likes that ^__^.

I found no "flaw" and just loved it from the start till the end (like all the other songs you've made, btw) so a 10 is the only solution.

Very good job. Now I'm ending this review so that I can finally reach Nirvana.

Peace.

Boux responds:

yeah :D i always play around with 1-2 songs each days on my guitar sometimes 3. But no i really made two that day. Its a different concept with less structure than usually. Thanks you for your awesome reviews again.

Man...

... one day I'll have to just download all this stuff you make. A "boux" folder is on its way ^__^.

This music makes for some really nice reading/studying/chillin music.

There's only one thing. It's very clear where you stopped recording a tune and started a new recording another one (around 1:45). Try to mask it. I have a personal tactic which may not sound professional, but hey it works. Cut out a piece of recorded silence and place it right in the middle of the two recordings in Garage Band (It's better than nothing, imo).

Anyway, very nice ^__^. Keep 'em coming.

P.S. Dude, use this kind of music to your advantage... You'll have more chicks than shirts and that's a FACT.

Boux responds:

cool, thanks for the 'recorded silence' tip, haha, i might use it now, and thanks for your thoughts again.
peace.

Good

The build-up is very good.

The side-chaining effect is welcomed, but maybe it's a bit TOO much towards the middle.

The volume of the melody also gets a bit too high (losing the quality of the sound) in the middle as well.

Very interesting test. If you'd keep that main melody after this build-up and put a good beat and other layers this would be a good trance song, imo.

I didn't listen to your previous test, but don't let go of this idea ^__^.

DJ-Qwamii responds:

alright. i'll fix it. :D thanks for the review.

I'm going to keep an eye on you o_O

You've got the potential. Your song's structure is very nice (like the others I've heard). The variation is fluid.

The beat's well thought up. I also like how you panned certain instruments on one side of the headphones.

All you need are better presets (or good sound-creation knowledge with subtractive synthesizers and such) and you're sure to be on the top lists ^__^.

Nice job.

T-rebel responds:

Well, I did make my own flute and bass synths from scratch. The rest is Plucked and preset drums. However, had I had the will to do it from scratch at 4:30 in the AM when I started this project, I might have done a better job. Either way, I'm more than happy with the outcome.

Wow... kick ass

The start is amazing and builds up VERY nicely. Congratz.

I see what you meant when you wrote that my melody was similar to yours. Your song's much better though ^__^.

The only flaw I can point out is in the mastering. Certain instruments are just too loud and ruin the AMAZING build-up you made.

It seems like you used Slayer in fruity loops judging from the guitar's sound a UN-realism when it changes notes. The problem is that it is VERY overpowered and unwelcomingly covers the other amazing melodies you have.

Change just that and you have (imho) a masterpiece. I'd download it (or even buy it) any day ^__^.

Keep up the good work.

T-rebel responds:

Well, I know now that the synth is overpowering; when I made this I was using my laptop's speakers (they blow), and the lvl's got all thrown off when I played it on better speakers. If you think it's bad listening to it on NG, you should try it with a sub on a stereo, the bass is WAAAAY too loud as well lol. Of all the tracks I've submitted I thought this was the catchiest and worst produced... but it got the best grades... go figure...

Can't wait...

... to hear the full version ^__^.

Maybe add some pad or something in the background (it seems a bit empty back there ^__^)

Hope your "almost broken" arm will heal quickly.

Cheers

Sacrafan responds:

Haha :P Ok.
Its pretty much good nao!
Ty for the advice =3

Nah... disagree with TJTheChill

I find it equally nice. I love its apparent simplicity. When someone manages to make something seem simple to others, that means he's good at what he's doing.

It sounds very clean and the "stumbles" (that I harshly pointed-out in your last submittion) are inexistent.

Now YOU are a robot ^__^.

It's short but excellent.
A good 9/10 in my new scale ^_* (oh shit... I fear I'll have to lift the bar some more soon... you're getting better too quickly)

May you're inspirations never cease.
9/10
5/5 <- (the 3.13/5 score it has right now is pure bullshit... gotta boost it ^_*)

Boux responds:

Getting better too quickly :D , depends of the day really, somedays i cant play anything that sounds decent and other days i can play better than usual.
nah wasnt harsh at all, maybe my response pushed you to believe that you had reviewed harshly, the word is more so honesty than harshly but anyways, thanks again, you write pretty damn good reviews.
peace.
