Roflmao... lol ^O^

The lyrics are pure distilled randomness.

This is the best sing-along song for kids ^__^

Stalagmite responds:

YAY SATAN! =D Clap along children!

Since you've got so much potential...

...I think I'll be a bit more of a critic today. Don't get me wrong, I'm doing it just to be helpful. If I made a mistake, diss me all you like ^o^.

Ok, here goes:

I wasn't too sure whether that static-sound in the background was rainfall or not, but it didn't sound too good (it wasn't well defined). It also seems to pan alot, which made me a bit distracted from 0:05-0:58.

The note at 0:49 didn't sound too well (it seems as if you "stumbled" at that point).

The pause at 1:04 is one second off. It starts three beats after the previous melody ends. It almost seems as if you decided to play a different song.

It seems like you stumbled again from 1:17-1:19. I might be terribly wrong, though.

From 2:58-3:00 there's something strange going on after one of the ghost notes. Perhaps you missed a ghost note?

3:08-3:11 didn't sound too perfect.

...I think that's it for the -ve criticism.

The praises ^__^:

The overall song is fantastic (not a surprise). The "autumn-mood" you cast in your songs is always there, but this time it's more of an "end-of-summer-rain". Very nice.

3:29 was perfectly on-beat

4:14 had some amazing arpeggios.

The mood is very solitary and gloomy and is similar to a Goo Goo Dolls style song from 3:30-end (reminds me a bit of "Iris" and "Name" combined), which I love ^_^.

All those little arpeggios, slides and string bends were some really good ear-candy for me. Kudos.

Thanks once more with your contributions. They're much appreciated.

Cheers.

Boux responds:

Well on the stumbles you mentionned, it all depends on who you ask, my tunes are all played live so you wont get a perfect studio quality, i think the fact its not perfect adds to the fact that it can be played by a human being and not a damn machines :D
On that, its still a freakin awesome review, you really took the time and you're honest about it wich is great.
Thanks again!, ill keep you updated.
peace.

Woohoo!

Wow... you've improved quickly!

The rhythm's on amphetamines o_O and the Atari-ish 8-bit melody is excellent ^__^! The bell in the beginning changes completely afterwards (in a good way!).

I just noticed that you should be careful of the mastering, however. The volume of the 8-bit synth (best example: the 2:03-2:06 transition) needs to be lowered a bit in order to enjoy the other cool melodies (hyperactive eurogate included ^_^ ).

There's a very good balance between instruments. The bass is strong (but not too much) and emphasizes the the snare (kickass example @ 2:24... really nice sounding).

For me the only real downside was the conclusion: The reeverb doesn't sound good once the 8-bit melody stops. I'd reduce it if I were you.

Apart from that, you made a kickass piece. Keep it up!

i realised that aswell, unfortuantely after i had rendered the song. I was using my new VST nexus. it took about 90% of my cpu and about 500 mb of ram so i couldnt even hear the song when i was making it lol. so unfortunately the square kinda ruined it a bit.

God bless you ^_^

Many thanks for giving the chord progressions to us... seriosly!

I'll give it a try (failing miserably ^_^... but, hell at least I tried)

This song has a very nice variation to it. I just love that ghost note part with the reeverb and all. Excellent job there. Do I hear strings? Nice. Maybe a bit too faded, but they still do their job nicely.

Great job once more. You've got potential. Keep it up and always improve yourself.
11/10 (the ghost notes and strings were a great touch)

P.S. I'm starting to get a bit off-scale with you... I think I'll lower my scores next time so that I'll start giving 10's for your masterpieces. Hope you don't mind ^_^.

Boux responds:

on your PS. , no problem at all :) yeah there are strings but i didnt want it to be the main part of the song.
thanks alot too, glad you're back to listen to some more.
peace.

Quality stuff ^_^

Just love it (like the rest of your songs). It just shows how magical the guitar can be (reason why I love it so much). I don't have anything to say against it. I love how you drum your guitar and melody is just so peaceful.

The only thing I could suggest you, really, would be to add some more atmosphere (if it's even possible ^_^) by placing some environmental effects in Garage Band: a distant cicadae, wind blowing on the leaves, river water flowing nearby, chirping birds, etc.

Damn... listening to you playing reminds me how I should start practicing my guitar skills. It's been taking dust for too long now =__=.

Excellent job with this song (and all the other ones I've heard). Keep me posted, if you can.

Cheers.

fav'ed artist! <---- (I'd be stupid NOT to)

P.S. Just out of curiousity. How do you record your stuff on garage band? Simply using a mic or something more sophisticated?

Boux responds:

Yeah id love to put more effects in my songs, just didnt found any very good one yet on garage band.
On your PS. i play my guitar 2 centimeters close of the built in microphone of my Mac to try and get the best sound quality possible, then i arrange the sound with a bit of mastering and others.
I'll keep you posted, or at least ill try to not forget anybody to send to.
thanks alot again!
peace.

*sigh* ... very nice

Absolutely some excellent camp-fire music. Crickets and some water flowing sounds nearby would add even more peace and tranquility to this piece ^_^.

Certain chord progressions were really well thought up (second half of your song) and I'll definitely download this one of these days. This music seems so perfect for long trips by train/bus where you just need to chill.

I'll probably TRY to emulate certain things you did for the fun of it (if you don't mind).

*sigh*... I looped this song three times now, but it sounds just as good as the first time I heard it ^_^.

Keep up the excellent work.

Boux responds:

no i dont mind :) , thanks for the very nice review, ill try to keep you posted (edit) and i do agree that extra sounds effect like you said could sound nice

Love it already!

I think this will stay stuck in my head for quite a while :o).

My opinion is certainly worth half a rat's ass, but it feels complete to me already!

Excellent job!

I'm absolutely checking the rest of your songs in the following days.

Boux responds:

cool, i hope you have the patience to check the other acoustic tunes, there's more than just a couple :)
thanks for the review!

Bravo

Wonderful... I just love it. The background noises of the trickling water and the nocturnal birds and the crickets (if I'm not mistaken).

Excellent silences and reeverbs. That guitar was fantastic (is it a recording?).

This song made me dream in broad daylight.

DayDreamingFox responds:

Yes you heard right, they are the usual nightly sounds you hear there. :) The guitar is edited recorded sample of Acoustic guitar.

Great! thats what for the song was created! ^_~

Very good work

I honestly have nothing to say against this song... It seems to have no flaw to me.

It starts nicely, it ends nicely and it's overall structured nicely.

Very clean sounds and effects. Nothing is overpowering and everything sounds very balanced.

The part from 2:00-2:51 was an excellent climax/conclusion.

The only thing is that the melody didn't stay stuck in my head once the song ended (my VERY personal and honest opinion, though).

Good job. You've got skillz 4 sure ^__^

Your cat would be proud... :(

Excellent

From 1:00-1:56 was ... wow. I loved the complexity of the melody.

That windy effect that you use once in a while for the transitions was fantastic as well.

Keep it up.

P.S. This would be even more kickass with a deejay screaming (for example from 2:49-2:51) "are you readyyyyy!"

Sacrafan responds:

Shi* I should have done that "Are you ready?!" Thing....
CRAP!
Maybe i'll release another version.
