hmm...
Having listened to the song you submitted before (City Block) I couldn't help but notice how, unfortunately, the voice ruined it for me. I don't mean it in a malicious way, but it's not upto the music's level. Plus, the volume of the voice is slightly loud and is covering the music. I may be a little stingy right now, but another thing I didn't like was the fact that you used a vocoder on a genre that, imho, isn't appropriate for it. Maybe I'm a little conservative about jazz ;o).
If I exclude the voice, this would've been my opinion:
0:32-1:02 very catchy and nice.
1:04-1:11 very pleasant transition (the piano is beautiful)
1:12-1:35 was orgasmic. I wish I could have enough skill to make it sound music that way too. The trumpet in general is breath-taking.
1:36-1:52 Paso Doble? Interesting (especially with the trumpet).
2:18-2:24 Didn't like the guitar sound there. Too much plucking that sounded a bit too fake.
2:25-2:40 Nice, nice, nice. The guitars were working together in an amazing way. I also loved the drum build-up there.
Nice. Everything seemed so real (except some very few exception as before mentioned). How the hell do you do it? The drum beats are fantastic and I'm trying to learn the pattern. I noticed that it doesn't change (pieces of the beat tend to come and go alternatively but no change in the structure), but it sounds so good that it doesn't need to :o). (Excluding the voice) You successfully improved City Block.
Without voice: 10/10
With voice: 7/10 (sorry)
Looking forward to listening to your next creations ;o).
Cheers
